Privacy Policy
Banded is designed as a local-first study app. Your card and deck text stays on your device unless you choose to export it. We do not sell your data, we do not use advertising trackers, and we do not track you across other apps or websites.
Who this policy covers
This policy covers the Banded IELTS app, the Banded Full in-app purchase, and the website at https://banded.cards/. The App Store listing uses this public policy URL: https://banded.cards/privacy.
Information you create
Banded stores your decks, cards, examples, hints, study state, goals, streaks, and import previews locally on your device. You can export app data when the app offers that option. We do not operate an account system or a first-party cloud database for your study content.
Banded Full can enable iCloud progress recovery. That recovery uses Apple's iCloud key-value storage for small progress fields such as streaks, counts, goals, test target, level, and unlock state. It is not a hosted deck-sync service and does not upload your user-created card text as a Banded cloud library.
Information the app may collect
- Product interaction data, such as onboarding steps, study-session counts, import counts, and paywall events.
- Diagnostics, such as crash data, app version, operating system version, and device class.
- An anonymous per-device identifier stored in the iOS Keychain so analytics and purchase diagnostics are not tied to your name or email.
- Purchase and entitlement metadata for Banded Full, such as product ID, transaction state, restore state, and refund state.
Analytics are designed not to include card text, deck text, names, email addresses, payment card details, contacts, photos, microphone data, precise location, or advertising identifiers.
Website data
The website is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare may process standard request data such as IP address, user agent, URL, time, and security metadata to deliver and protect the site. The site may keep UTM campaign parameters in your browser session storage so App Store links preserve attribution while you browse.
Purchases
In-app purchases are processed by Apple through StoreKit. Banded also uses RevenueCat to manage product availability, entitlements, restores, and purchase diagnostics. Apple handles payment information; Banded does not receive your credit card number or Apple Account password.
Third-party processors
Banded may use PostHog for product analytics, RevenueCat for purchase and entitlement management, Sentry for diagnostics, Apple for App Store purchases and iCloud services, and Cloudflare for website hosting and security. These providers process data only for the purposes described in this policy.
What we do not do
- We do not sell personal information.
- We do not share data for cross-app or cross-site advertising.
- We do not request App Tracking Transparency permission.
- We do not collect contacts, photos, microphone audio, or precise location.
- We do not send user-created card text to analytics, diagnostics, or purchase systems.
Your choices and rights
You can delete local study data in the app where reset controls are available. You can also contact [email protected] to request access, correction, deletion, or other privacy help. If your request involves Apple purchase records, we may direct you to Apple's App Store or Apple privacy tools because Apple controls those payment records.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights under laws such as GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA, or similar privacy laws. We will honor applicable requests after taking reasonable steps to verify and locate the relevant data.
Retention
Local study data remains on your device until you delete it, reset progress, or uninstall the app. Support emails are kept as long as needed to respond and maintain records. Analytics, diagnostics, and purchase records are retained according to the settings and legal obligations of the processors named above.
Children
Banded is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.
Changes
We may update this policy when the app, processors, laws, or store requirements change. The updated policy will appear at this same URL with a new date. For material changes, we will use reasonable notice in the app or on the website.
